Yellow is not a color typically seen all that often in interiors; it’s very bright and attention-grabbing – maybe a little too much for some people. Yet, it’s on the 2013/2014 Color Forecast “Seduction” palette as previously blogged about. That’s probably because good ole classic yellow is on the upswing for its optimistic and creative-thought-inducing qualities.  Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t want a little optimism and creativity in today’s times?

Three shades of yellow appear on the forecasted color palette: a goldenrod, mustard, and a pea green that is very much on the yellow side. While we aren’t really sure about how “seductive” these tones are, they are most certainly rich and bold and will add life to whatever space they appear in. These colors are perfect when paired with whites, like in the interior shot above, or grays, as is trendy with current interiors. A low-saturation goldenrod paint in a small room would be a non-overwhelming facelift to brighten a dull interior. Or, even adding just a lamp and a rug, like the ones we found below, can make a room look fresh, young, and inviting. So maybe yellow and green are only “seductive” in that they’re happy and bright, but even so we are excited to see what 2013 brings us for these colors.
