We at DOTIpreviously blogged that Tangerine Tango is Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year, and that it isn’t going away any time soon, if the Color Association of the United State’s 2013-2014 Color Forecast is any indication. However, this is far from being the only hue on the color trend horizon. But the other colors forecasted by the CAUS are, on the whole, significantly softer and more sensual; in fact the “theme” of the color forecast is – get ready for it – seduction. “Grounded” grays, “cosmic” purples, and “Eden”-like greens are among the selection of up-and-coming colors for 2013 and beyond. Looking at the palette, you can see that gray-based hues are very popular. This gives interiors a subdued sensuality that is obviously popular among architects and designers, and even fits well among the aforementioned 1920s décor trend for furniture and furnishings.
This gorgeous pink and purple are two of my favorite among the forecasted palette. They’re romantic and sophisticated, and provide a great starting point for a seductive color scheme. They are great when judicially paired with each other, with neutrals like the beige swatch below them, or even with one of those “Eden” –like greens mentioned earlier. A living room like this one with these colors and elaborate furnishings is classic, feminine, and beautiful. Not to mention, since these colors aren’t too bright, it’s easier to use several splashes of it within your space, if colored furnishings are more your style. Look at what we found already in our catalogues in these 2013-trendy colors!
