Reclaimed and redesigned – beautifully.

With the entire world going green, antique and reclaimed wood products are EVERYWHERE. Not only are they hot, but they have that ever-desirable traditional look with a contemporary flair. In my search for products to complete the look, I found this GORGEOUS Water Tower lounge chair by Bellboy. It’s called the Water Tower chair because it is made from the reclaimed timbers of a New York City water tower; as such, it’s nearly one-of-a-kind and will make you a mere $14, 200 lighter in the pocket. The unique variations in the wood stand out in any interior space and make a good contrast against neutrals – like the popular grey color palette – or pops of color – wouldn’t it look just fabulous on a tribal rug?

Welcome to our blog!

Before I start delving into the ever-changing world of interior design trends and statements, let me first welcome you to our new blog for Designs Of The Interior – our DOTI blog, so to speak. DOTI was founded as a small Interior Design studio in 1983 and today is a name that represents specialization in residential design as well as ASID-certified designers and a network of home furnishings manufacturers.

This blog is meant to serve as inspiration to you, dear readers, as our clients and fellow lovers of beautiful things. We are going to work hard to bring you the latest trends, color schemes, interiors, and furniture so that you can be inspired, awed, and more aware of just how varied and amazing the world of home décor and design really is.

Please feel free to comment with your thoughts, questions, or suggestions about the blog– we would love to hear your thoughts on a trend or how you were inspired by a particular post.

Once again, welcome, and enjoy your DOTI blog experience!  Remember, life’s too short to live with ugly stuff!
